Hat Box Makeover
I love hat boxes, it’s weird, but they are fun! This box used to store my cards and stationary, but it soon grew to small to hold it all in. I decided to give it a makeover and use it as a decoration. This is what I came up with.
What you need:
1 1/2 yards sack cloth
Step 1: Cut the sack cloth into 2-3″ strips
Step 2: Take the 4th or 5th thread from the edge and pull on it while slidding the rest of the fabric down the thread so that it gathers and creates a ruffle. Measure the length around the box to make sure it is gathered enough to fit perfectly along the outside.
Step 3: Glue the edge, where the thread you pulled on is located, to the box.
You are done! Soooo simple.
