I am excited to introduce to you Jalynn from The Red Closet Diary. She is a fashion blogger and I LOVE her style. Read about her “third piece” rule and how it can work for you! Thanks Jalynn!
Hello everyone!! I am visiting today from the red closet diary. I am beyond excited to be here guest blogging for Cee Me Be !!
I thought long and hard on what I wanted to talk about, and decided to talk about something that I have learned over time, through working in the fashion industry and being a fashion blogger. This was something I taught myself as I learned and developed my own style. I am not the kind of girl to just put on a t-shirt and jeans and head out the door (99% of the time). I may not have come up with this rule, but it is something I live by and LOVE.
It is easy to get up in the morning and throw on a simple top and bottom and head off to work for the day, and sometimes that is just what has to happen (Monday’s especially, yuck). On those wonderful days when you wake up and want to dress to impress, well, this is when the “third piece” comes into play. Can you guess what it is yet? The “third piece” is that piece in your outfit, that in a way, completes your outfit.
Here are a few examples of the “third piece”
1. Accessories (statement necklaces, hats, scarves or even a belt sometimes)
2. Jackets (sweaters, cardigans, vests, blazers and coats)
Like I said earlier, you don’t always have to have a third piece. During the summer nobody wants to wear a blazer and sweat like crazy! This would be a good time to throw on that statement necklace or a hat though. Now that I have talked about this, let me show you exactly what I mean. In this outfit I would call my third piece my necklace, or the cardigan. If you like this rule and want to try it out, before you leave for the house, just think about adding that third piece.
